You do know that this isnt a usual window unit?
Its usually expensive as heck because they dont make many of these through the wall ACs.

He'll I had to ask Alexa what the difference was. And I'm 50 years old. I thought it was like the hotel ac. Well the older hotel and motels. Where they all was sticking out the wall. But I had to clue the inner workings were different per se. And as the other poster pointed out. It's a through the wall unit. Not through the window. So the price is completely reasonable for what it is. But it's not dyi. Well for most. You get to cutting the wrong support load bearing walls. For the hole. And you can get in a lot of trouble fast. Best have a professional install it. Which will set you back probably another 1000 to 1500 depending on where you live. Don't let Billy Joe from third street do it. For a pack of camels and a nascar hat. Or Tyron from cell block A. Both fine gentleman. But I don't trust them around power tools or load bearing walls. Yeah that's a thing. An important thing. For those of you thinking oh I can do this. I got some ryobi power tools. This is gonna be a breeze. Only breeze that you gonna have. Is when the outside wall collapses from you cutting in the wrong place. You have been forewarned.

I feel like very few people install through-wall units somewhere new, it's usually a replacement for an existing one that's aged out. So the hole in the wall is generally already there, but you need to make a custom frame to make the new unit fit into the old space without any gaps, because you don't want bugs getting in or cool air getting out.

Structurally, the biggest difference is that window units can have airflow through all sides of the unit since they're just hanging out, but wall units only have vents on the front and back because the rest of the unit is inside a sleeve with the sides sealed.

Been weighing the mini split versus through wall options for my rental

Through wall can be switched out and about an hour without any special tools

Mini split requires flaring lines vacuuming them crossing your fingers that you didn't miss anything when you energize the system etc.

So if you want something that's easy to install this is it

And BTW this isn't rocket surgery if you're gonna go into your wall and cut out a stud for this hole you just frame it the same way you do a window with the a header and two king studs on either side of the frame hole

These are noisier because the compressor is inside the box that is attached to your room versus a mini split

Also worth mentioning this is 115 so I can plug into a household outletif that's all you have nearby but would be much more efficient if it was 220
