If you get it plan on replacing at least the power supply, the motherboard and the cpu cooler.
Most likely not possible. This computer is proprietary power supply and motherboard. So most likely a GPU that has a max power draw of 75w is all this system could handle. It probably could handle a better cpu cooler.

Note that this is the normal every day price. It's always $360, Acer just jacked the price up to particpate in the BRANDS20 discount code. I looked at this a month ago at $360 and decided to not buy as the power supply doesn't have any connections for a graphics card.

It's definitely was not the every day price as I've been checking in every week for the last month & half or so and told myself I'd buy it when it hit $360, so I ordered it yesterday for my mother who's PC is having issues.

Maybe when you looked it happen to be $360, but it was definitely not the every day price.

This isn't a bad price for the CPU, SSD, and RAM given current market prices. That you get a whole working computer out of it is a bonus.

I did something similar about a week ago. Granny had a 4th Gen Intel i7, and her seagate HDD crapped the bed. I had ordered a used PC from eBay with an Intel 14700 in order to swap the CPU from my computer (Intel 14100) to the eBay PC, and maybe add a 1050 ti to sell it locally. I ended up giving granny the 10 year newer PC with the 14100 which scored about x2 what her old CPU scored on passmark. Up until 8th gen i7s were 4 core 8 thread, and the 14100 is just that but with higher ipc. Also if you get this computer don't forget to update your bios as the 13th and 14th Gen Intel are known to get cooked by their motherboards if you don't.

Cheaper in June
June prices are irrelevant, Ram and storage prices have continued to rise due to AI, and this trend is not stopping any time soon, fabs take too long to spin up, even in China. Apple can't get enough ram, and China's internal phone market is really screwed as they can't afford the premium. That being said unless you don't need a gpu, its best to get one that has one to benefit from oem bundled prices.

"Proprietary" just means using a different configuration, but it's still the same 12v subsystem. You can buy 24pin standard ATX to 6-pin adapters for like $15 if you want to toss in a more powerful power supply which can also power any GPU you want. Otherwise, just toss in a slot-powered GPU (3050, A2000, etc.) which will be fed by the PCIE slot. The only caution is that if you need to buy a PSU that physically fits in the case and an adapter, then you might be pushing yourself up into another pre-built price bracket that already has standard connectors.
Your idea is crazy risky by the way, because Dell for example, even among many of their models, buying that 24 pin to six pin adapter could short circuit the motherboard because the pin layout is different among various models, so who's to say that Acer here is adhering to a some kinda standard. The other problem is is that, even if you could make a power supply fit in here, you would have to employ using a drill, and a Dremel to make the power supply fit, and nobody ain't doing that

This has one m.2 nvme slot and 3 sata ports. As far as where to mount the hard drive on the inside, I can't figure out what that is. 2 sata ports are sata power and 3 are for data, it almost seems like it has 5 sata ports but 3 are for data

Mine is 15yrs old altho i upgraded to a ssd in 2018 so sort of only 8yrs old?

cpu is throttled because of heat.
i tried cleaning out the heat sink with air.
it got faster but my cpu program still says not at full speed.

Cpu currently at 3k mhz but it's supposed to be 3.5k mhz.
and it constantly jumps down to min speed (800 mHz) for a couple cycles.

oh, i'm running 4 monitors so i need to buy a cheap gpu board so not $360 for me.
do cheap video cards exists anymore since the cpu makers included barebones video with their chip?
