This DeWalt DCD801 kit stands out as a strong value for the drill alone, with the bare tool described as worth over $100 and the included 4 Ah Powerpack batteries called especially good. The clearance price around $134 to $136 makes it feel like a solid find, though pricing and stock vary a lot by store and the deal appears to be in store only. The kit is not DeWalt's top drill or top compact model, and the clearance may reflect battery shelf life concerns. A worthwhile pickup if you can locate one nearby.
Common Questions (4)
No. The DCD1007 is identified as DeWalt's top-of-the-line drill, and the DCD805 is identified as the top compact model. The DCD1007 is also a hammer drill, so it is a different category when comparing performance.
At around $134, it is considered a strong deal because the bare tool alone is worth over $100, and the kit includes two 4 Ah Powerpack batteries and a charger. That makes it attractive even if you already own a drill.
Yes. The clearance pricing is in-store only, and availability can vary a lot by store, with some locations showing one or a few units while others have none on the shelf. Checking multiple nearby stores can be the difference between finding it and missing out.
The likely reason is battery shelf life rather than the drill itself. Sealed lithium-ion batteries slowly lose charge, and if kits sit too long, the battery management system can deep-sleep or lock out the cells, so retailers often liquidate them before that happens.

Wonder why they are clearing out a new drill ?
I know they've had issues with the anti-rotation mechanism.

$134 is nearly instabuy price for this, even if you don't NEED another drill. The included batteries are pretty great!
These clearnace prices are IN-STORE ONLY, so I'm hoping that they won't be cleared out by the time I get off work today, fingers crossed...
The fb marketplace scalper sold all his $9 Ridgid fans, all nine of them at $50 each.
He is probably lurking in here as well, and waiting for the DeWalt drill to drop to $135, buy it and flip it for $189.
