Doesn't sound like you are very familiar with Blink cameras. Do you even own one? If you're getting too many alerts, you can suppress the alerts on your phone. Second, if your cams are going off for "every little tree movement," then you can simply change the sensitivity on your cams and/or change the monitoring area to exclude the blowing tree branches. I have a couple of these cameras, and Gen 4's get good images in both the day and the night (decent IR night vision) and they have numerous options for fine tuning them (like turning down the sensitivity if they're getting triggered too often).

Finally, the big advantage of these Blink cams vs so much of the other competition, is that this set includes a Sync 2 module, that let's you record for FREE. Pretty much every other decent consumer camera requires some type of subscription to record anything. The Sync 2 accepts up to a 256 GB USB memory stick, which can last you for months (and when it's full, you just delete it, reformat it, and plug it back in the Sync 2).

I will say, of the random camera systems I've tried, blink, reolink, foslink(sp?), tapo, arlo/Google/nest, etc, blink was the worst.

Ignoring the privacy concerns Ring cameras have, blink ones were low quality and unless you bought their job, there was no way to save video from them easily. And pretty worthless if you don't have a subscription. (Also the worst in viewing current feed, it would ask after 10 seconds to continue even on the plug in models.

I have purchased these refurbished blink cameras twice and have been very happy with them. No issues. Great deal if you're looking to add a few extra cams to your existing system.

Without a subscription, you will get alerts on every little tree movement, bees or wasps, etc. if you want only human movement alerts, it's not possible without a subscription. I would personally not support a company like this.

He's right about the alerts without a subscription. When an insect buzzes the camera, it has nothing to do with sensitivity settings, the insect nearly fills the frame for a moment so it triggers. Without a subscription, you can't suppress alerts, that now falls to tricks on your phone like setting up focus modes and playing games trying to not to get alerted constantly. I've used these outdoors for years now and they're pretty good when you're on the subscription trial for 30 days, then back to delayed alerts, slow retrievel, and using phone to filter what you can. Not a deal breaker but people just need to know what they're getting into without the pricey subscription.

I second this. Setting aside the subscription that will improve functionality, the feature limitation (e.g. no pre-recording) as well as the number of premature battery failures I've had (not necessarily Blink's fault since they're Energizer Lithium), I would advise others to steer clear of the Blink ecosystem. While their price point is alluring, the headache involved in setup, maintenance, and using them for their intended purpose makes me wish I chose something else to go "all-in" on for two homes that I recently set up.

For references I bought the two 6-pack Blink + Sync Module sets from Home Depot 2 months back from an SD thread, as well as the doorbell from Amazon during that same time period. I also have 3-yr old Reolink cameras. Hands down, I would choose the Reolink cameras. I've had four battery failures for the Blink cameras in the span of 2 months with limited use. So much for "up to 2 years battery life" promised....

it's been excellent for us for years (4 cameras) using a thumb drive with no cloud subscription. worth every discounted pennies i paid for them.

our blink lithiums have lasted 2 years plus and even in sub zero winter temps.
