Unfortunately the PC parts industry is getting hit hard by DRAMageddon, GN specifically interviewed Cooler Master among others and they were looking at 70-90% drops in shipments because people just weren't building PCs. Bigger players with industry contracts will likely be fine but smaller players also harmed by fluctuating tariffs are looking at a grim couple of years.

You can afford it, easily. DDR4 has lower latency than DDR5, so they both even out performance wise. Before you dismiess my claim, go and fact check me. DDR4 is very affordable, I've been sniping cheap sets for resell locally for months. I don't make much, but enough I've flipped a good 30+ sets and used that money to buy a few DDR5 sets. You can buy brand new DDR4 based Intel boards right now for $99 or less. Intel is releasing a new socket 1700 cpus ( offically announced ) soonish. People that can't build a powerful gaming PC for cheap are your typical average vanilla consumer. DDR4 16gb $100+, 512 NMVe used off eBay $60, this cheap but amazing case for $55, RTX 5070 for $500 or under, $70 600watt PSU, 12600K Intel for around $125+, 32" 1080p 144ghz+ for $125 - $150, Dual fan air cooler for $35+, Windows 11 key for $15 or so. You're @ around $1200 all in for a bad ass gaming system.
