The Galaxy S25 Edge stands out as an unusually thin, light phone with 512GB of storage, and that extra capacity is seen as useful for the next few years. The camera is described as decent for everyday shots, especially at 1x and 0.6x, and the pocket feel is a major plus. Battery life and heat are the main concerns, with reports of a warm running phone and weaker endurance than expected. The deal also draws attention because the unlocked price is close to Fi-based pricing tricks, making the value depend on whether those extra steps matter.

  • People who want a very thin Android phone for pocket carry, because it feels much lighter than bulkier models and stays comfortable in shorts pockets.

  • People who mainly take standard photos and videos, because the camera is described as decent or more than capable for regular use.

  • Heavy storage users, because 512GB is described as an optimal capacity that should stay useful for years.

  • Drivers or desk users who keep the phone on hotspot for hours, because it can run that way without issue.

  • Gamers or anyone expecting cool operation, because the phone can run hot and warm up during gaming.

  • People who need long battery life, because battery performance is described as poor or worse than older phones.

  • Mobile photographers who rely on strong zoom or flagship camera quality, because the camera is described as worse than prior phones and the 200MP shot quality is disappointing.

  • People who want a clean Android interface, because OneUI duplication can feel cluttered compared with a Pixel-style experience.

I am due for an upgrade for my S22 ultra. While I like this, I think I should wait for S27 pro. Maybe I am wrong.
Same, sort of. I have the S21 Ultra 5G and I love it. However, 256gb just isn't cutting it anymore.

I've been wanting to uofmgrade for years, but there's just nothing out there to justify eating Ramen for 3 months. Lol.

I love this phone. The size and weight are so much less strain to hold and I can put it in my shorts pocket without it feeling like a brick is pulling them down. I have never noticed anything with excessive heat and I had 2 ultras and a plus prior. Not sure what those references are about, maybe long gaming sessions. I use mine in the car with hotspot without issue running for hours streaming movies to infotainment android box. They should have kept making this variant and eliminated the plus. Using it with Verizon (Visible) and Ultra Mobile (T-Mobile) without a hiccup.

I swapped to Android and the Edge after the non-telephoto Air was announced, and is my favorite phone since the iPhone 5 & 6. I've been thrilled to not have a brick weighing down my pocket for the last year.

Camera is more than capable for regular person use, I get all day battery (40% at 11pm), and has never run hot.

Samsung not bringing an S26 Edge says more about the public thinking they need ALL THE THINGS on their phones when the Edge and Air are expressly designed to not be. Only downside is losing the ease of the Apple ecosystem, but the lord giveth and the lord taketh away.

I loved this phone, I didn't realize how much lighter it was until I upgraded to a s26U. Too bad the trade-in value is always garbage.

I bought this and returned it after using a Pixel 9 Pro for two years. The battery life is pretty bad, the camera is the worst 200mp I've ever seen, and the OneUI duplicate garbage is enough to drive you crazy. The Pixel is a much nicer clean Android experience.

For this phone would be the best price around $499. Nice phone and 512GB is optimal capacity.
What would be the best price for this phone once it hits $499?

coming next week Samsung's best software features from 2026 are coming to the lower-cost S26 FE -- but at $700, it's certainly not cheap. https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/...-bargain/?
