The Galaxy S25 Edge stands out as an unusually thin, light phone with 512GB of storage, and that extra capacity is seen as useful for the next few years. The camera is described as decent for everyday shots, especially at 1x and 0.6x, and the pocket feel is a major plus. Battery life and heat are the main concerns, with reports of a warm running phone and weaker endurance than expected. The deal also draws attention because the unlocked price is close to Fi-based pricing tricks, making the value depend on whether those extra steps matter.
Common Questions (5)
It can run hot because the phone is very thin and has less room for thermals, and several reports say battery life is poor. A few users also say they have not noticed excessive heat in normal use, so the issue appears more likely under heavier loads like gaming.
The Edge is valued for being very thin and light, making it easier to hold and pocket than Ultra or Plus models. The tradeoff is a smaller battery and more heat, so the Plus or Ultra is the safer pick if battery life and thermals matter more than slimness.
It requires service and is not a standalone device, but it can be used with Google Fi deals. The practical path mentioned is to activate with Fi, keep the line active for the required period, and use the unlocked phone normally after that.
The camera is described as decent and more than capable for regular photos, especially at 1x and 0.6x. The main caveat is that some users report it is worse than expected compared with other phones, including complaints about the 200MP camera.
The 512GB capacity is described as the sweet spot for this phone and enough to stay useful for the next few years. It is especially appealing if 256GB feels tight, since the extra storage is the main reason to choose this model over smaller options.

You join with BYOD on Flex plan and use a "friend's" code. You dont port in your number, let them assign you one. Don't use it as your main line for data or it will get expensive. Dont run speedtests on it because that uses a lot of data - learned the hard way
After 21 days you will be considered an existing customer and deals will be available to you. You have to stay an additional 120 days active. Activate the phone with the esim. You can put another carrier sim in the phone for the 120 days, put your main line in. Don't put your Fi sim in another phone or put a different "Fi" accounts sim in the new phone for the 120 days.
Cost: Figure 5 months of service. $20 per month plus taxes. So lets say $25/mo including taxes and fees. So $125- 60 friend code (applies to your bills after 30 days) = $65 for service. Cost of S26U 256gb should be $649 plus tax, S26 Plus $499 + tax
If you change your mind after the 21 days and you decide you want to wait for the s27 pre-ortder promos next Feb/Mar , you can pause your account in 90 day increments

Once the refund is processed, I will tell eBay and see if they do anything. This looks like a good price though I don't really need 512 gb. Given my last experience, do I just spend the money and buy a S26+ and not take any more chances... it isn't like I can't afford it, I am just being cheap.
The seller looks legit — 99% positive, thousands of reviews — but once you filter for negatives in the classic view and strip out all the automated eBay feedback, the real picture shows up. Most of their "positive" reviews are for cheap junk, and anything expensive has vague, useless comments. My negative feedback stayed up for a few weeks and then quietly disappeared.
They also run multiple seller accounts, all using the same copy‑and‑paste responses to both positive and negative feedback. It's obviously the same scammer behind all of them. They pump out new listings almost nonstop, and I know at least some of those listings get removed for being counterfeit once people like us realize they were scammed because I reported them and the listing I bought was removed — and then the seller immediately reposts the exact same listings like nothing happened.
Our "new S23U" was used, updated, had a garbage aftermarket screen, and came in a fake box with fake accessories. Straight-up fraud.
Returning it was another scam attempt. They claimed the phone was "damaged" with a "bent frame" and "not good condition" and tried to keep half the refund, backed by a photo of a completely different device under a bright light at a bad angle in a dark room. eBay's automated AI appeal bot fixed it, but the whole thing still wasted a month.
I used to trust eBay, but it's obvious they're protecting high‑volume counterfeit sellers instead of buyers. My neg feedback was deleted, these sellers are still posting new auctions every day, and eBay doesn't seem interested in stopping any of it.
