I've owned a brown 1000 miles pair for over five years and I've never met someone who didn't like them on me.

I've worn them a lot over the years and I only conditioned them once after probably five years and they still look just about brand new. I regret not conditioning them sooner because the creases started getting a tad dry, but they bounced back really well.

I highly recommend at this price. I probably paid about $225 on a slickdeal for factory blemish (I couldn't find the blemish) 6-7 years ago.

These definitely get my testimonial. Perfect time of year for the sale too, in the northeast these boots wear great in the fall before the rock salt gets thrown down everywhere.

I went to a red wing retail store to confirm my size before buying and I highly recommend you do the same because these have a Goodyear welt and are resoleable and will last you a very long time if you take good care of them. They did have a slight break in period before the leather melded to my foots shape.

The main rule to know is that if you wear these for extended periods such as to work, don't wear them again the next day to allow them to sufficiently return to normalized moisture level, and to use the redwing boot color matched conditioner before they start drying out. That helps extend the life of leather footwear significantly.

If you're on the fence I say go for it, this is not a purchase you'll regret.

These are good boots. You will be hard-pressed to find something better at this price point.

They run large. Size down 1/2 size. There is no wide size, which is a bummer. They are leather boots, though, and can be stretched. I did so by stuffing towels inside, then warming the outside with a heat gun.

Nonsense. You can't make a shoe a wider size by "stretching" the leather. Utter nonsense.

If you follow this advice you will end up like many others with foot problems caused by shoes that are too small. Your toes should be able to splay when you walk.

For some reason these boot guys like to have cramped toes while they prance around in their fancy footwear.

WTF are you talking about? Cobblers stretch shoes all the time. It won't turn a narrow shoe into a wide, but you can get extra room that way. I know I did. Again, these boots run large. I wear a 9.5 or even a 10, depending on the specific shoe, but with these a 9 fits me nicely (other than needing a little stretching across the ball of the foot).

Use obenauff on the inside of the boot. These are unlined so you can condition them on the inside and they don't change color so you don't have to use specific color conditioner. Put them in the sun inside your house or near a heat source before conditioning. Warming the leather a bit does wonders. And lastly buy a boot dryer and put them on it after a long day or after they get wet. Boot dryers extended the life of my kids soccer shoes over the years.
