This Gigabyte A16 looks like a strong value gaming laptop for people who want a 16 inch 165Hz IPS screen, 32GB of RAM, and an RTX 5070 without paying much more. The 2560 by 1600 panel is called out for 100 percent sRGB and 400 nit brightness, and the machine also brings Wi Fi 7, two M.2 slots, and support for up to 4TB of storage. The main tradeoffs are the 85W GPU cap, the older i7 13620H platform, and the 150W adapter, which point to limited performance headroom and poor battery life. It is also described as heavy enough to feel more like a desktop replacement than a travel laptop.
The RTX 5070 is capped at 85W, which can support cooler and quieter operation when paired with undervolting.
The configuration can be positioned as an efficient on-the-go gaming option because the 85W GPU limit reduces heat and noise expectations.
The 16-inch 2560×1600 IPS 165Hz display includes sRGB 100% coverage and a typical 400 nits brightness rating.
The laptop supports Wi‑Fi 7 and includes two total M.2 slots with support for up to 4TB storage.
The 85W GPU cap and a 150W power adapter can limit CPU power allocation and lead to poor battery life.
The laptop's battery life can be very short, with guidance indicating it may require living off the power brick.
The laptop can be heavy at about 8 pounds, which makes it more suitable as a desktop replacement than a lightweight carry option.

This is a good price but the processor is old. It's power brick limited and still stuck at 10nm so you're gonna get bad battery life

It's indeed a power hungry processor. Because they have the 5070 capped at 85w and this supposedly ships with a 150w brick, this isn't configured to run up to the full 115w that CPU can be allocated, probably more like 50-65w. Depending on their dynamic power allocation, the CPU could indeed use more if the GPU is disabled or put into a low power state however.
Either way, this laptop is indeed going to have poor battery life. You'll definitely be living off the brick.
