8lbs! That's a lot to lug around, so don't expect a lightweight gaming laptop, more of a desktop replacement. That said, the specs all look good for the price.

That's probably the weight of the whole box.

This is a good price but the processor is old. It's power brick limited and still stuck at 10nm so you're gonna get bad battery life

You are correct, it looks like it's listed elsewhere as just under 5lbs. Pretty useless to put the box weight in the specs, as that's extremely confusing when you have the laptop specific specs just above.

It's indeed a power hungry processor. Because they have the 5070 capped at 85w and this supposedly ships with a 150w brick, this isn't configured to run up to the full 115w that CPU can be allocated, probably more like 50-65w. Depending on their dynamic power allocation, the CPU could indeed use more if the GPU is disabled or put into a low power state however.

Either way, this laptop is indeed going to have poor battery life. You'll definitely be living off the brick.

Thinking of going for this one over the aero that's also on here. Any reason not to go for this? Thinking the 5070 and 32gb is worth it

Dang, just ordered a 15" Alienware with everything pretty much the same (640h CPU, but I think it's about the same as 13620h), except only has an RTX 5060 for about $100 more with education discount. Dell claims 7.5 hours battery life on the Alienware if just watching a video.

This seems like a good deal given the times we live in.
