yup and none of the 20v to 12v adapters will work with these because of the design. 12v platform is dead. I think lowes is just doing big sales at this point to empty inventory

Actually, it works just fine! I'm using it right now with an adapter and a 5 Ah DeWalt 20V battery, and I've even hooked it up to an 8 Ah Milwaukee M18 battery—no issues at all. Since I don't use it super often, the extra weight doesn't bother me much. It's a pretty neat little ratchet, but I'll probably return it simply because I don't need a dedicated one. I really enjoy the 12V DeWalt line—my screwdriver and five-in-one driver are two of my favorite tools. I get why some folks say the line might not have a long future, but I've got two 2 Ah batteries and an adapter, which is all I'll likely need. The batteries came in kits I got at a great price, so my only real cost was a $20 adapter.

This is a good alternative to Milwaukee's M12 ratchet wrench. Is this a deal? This is actually what the REGULAR retail price should be for this starter kit.
Not too shabby, but last year I got the Skil 12V pwrcore impact driver and ⅜ impact wrench with 12V 2Ah battery and USB-C charger for $68 after taxes (both 125ft-lb torque 2950RPM) and $20 for the ratchet wrench body only with ¼ adapter (55ft-lb torque, 220RPM, manual torque up to 150ft-lb). They all worked well doing tyre rotations and changing brakes and rotors on my 2012 VW JETTA Sportwagen. I keep them in a tool bag in the trunk for emergencies. This DeWalt 12V tool is slightly better at 60 ft-lb, 250 RPM, and manual torque 175 ft-lb. I paid under $95 for 3 12V tools and batteries.
I am disappointed DeWalt and Skil pulled the plug on these fine 12V tools. Will we all have to settle for aftermarket DeWalt and Skil 12V batteries from Amazon?

Interesting. Could you link the adapter because this and one other tool I can't remember has always been marked as incompatible with any adapter I have ever found.

12v line is. lowes exclusive and competes with Milwaukee's compact 12 vilt tools. The libe isn't dead. Just inconvenient to have two battery platforms as few tools are dual use.

Not sure what you mean by 'dead' as Dewalt has never announced they are discontinuing or abandoning the Xtreme 12v line of tools. They simply pay more attention to their 20v lineup.
I own both 20v and 12v. The 12v line would be fine for the average home owner.

Dewalt has not put out a new tool for the 12v line in over 5 years at this point and Lowes is the only store that still sells them and they are doing massive sales on them lately. I think the writing is on the wall. I don't know why someone would buy into the 12v line at this point. I mean half these tools were already on sale just 2-3 weeks ago and were 10 bucks more then they are now. Price keeps dropping.
