The plastic corners on the lids break off. Mine I have had for 4 months of light use, no freezing, no dishwasher etc. I have had 3 corners snap off on the lids. I tried to find replacement lids, from Rubbermaid. They don't sell them. I I did contact customer service to see about a replacement, but the process to even submit a warranty claim to 30 minutes, file too big for the support site. They basically make it difficult for the average consumer to waste time on this. You can find non-OEM lids on line, but it I wanted a glass container with a cheep lid, I would not have bought this product. So if you want American Made, high quality, don't buy this product. It's just not worth the price markup

UPDATE: While I was originally fine with the mixture of plastic and glass in the construction and figured it was just a frustrating choice. No, the tiny tabs that stick off the side that you need to use to remove the lid are way too small and the extreme suction on the lid mean that it is going to eventually break when you are removing it. This time the plastic shards went straight into my hand and I ended up bleeding all over my counter. Luckily I didn't bleed on the food or that would have been a disaster. I do not know why the whole container is not just glass. That would have solved this problem entirely. Unless you like expensive, broken containers and slicing your hands open, look elsewhere for your food storage.

COMPLETE UNMITIGATED GARBAGE. As an advanced degree Mechanical Design Engineer, this is the cheapest/ poorest design I have seen in a long, long time. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO RUBBERMAID QUALITY?
1. Refer to the attached photos BOTH retaining clip have broken off, do to a very fragile plastic "teet" or pivot point, if you will, in which to secure the latch. You will note I have had to secure the clip in place WITH DUCT TAPE, to recover any functionality at all. Was I supposed to get a free roll of duct tape with the purchase?
2. The location and method in which to seal the lid in place is completely stupid from a mechanical leverage stand point. As such, even minor pressure that occurs in the normal course of heating food (in an effort to prevent your food from drying out during the warm-up process, CAUSES THE PLASTIC LID TO WARP, BREAKING THE SEAL, BLOWING YOUR ENTIRE GOAL OF KEEPING IT SEALED.
The part that I find most stunning is the parent company, NEWELL BRANDS claims that 50-60% of their products are MADE IN THE UNITED STATES and that they are striving to bring more of their manufactured product back to the US from China. REALLY?....Well Newell, if this product was DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED or even just DESIGNED here in the US, THIS ENRAGES ME AND SHOULD EMBARRASS YOU.
IF, Newell can supply me with an updated IMPROVED DESIGN PRODUCT, I will take this review down. Until then, BUYER BEWARE!

Everything is a pale comparison of what it used to be...
My Top Tier Sony TV lasted 26 months and Sony customer service advice me that I should have not expected for it to last longer than two years. Every thing nowadays is the equivalent of a Bic pen.....works great at first but it's will fail within months.
We have to chose the best of the worse.

I will respond to two of these points that may mitigate the negatives
- The rubbermaid cheaper plastic storage container lids should be the exact same I believe. Relatively "cheap" way on getting replacement lids
- I don't know if all glass is preferable as the lid needs to have some give or the chances of the lid breaking is way too high. Your other option to make sure you have an airtight seal is the plastic from Pyrex lids (which is awful imo) or hard plastic where you risk 1 out of 1 billion chance of scratching yourself. You run the risk with any product, no product is perfectly safe. There may be other alternatives, I'm not a material scientist but that also may ramp up the price more.
- He might be right but keep in mind, this is one negative review from others. Other people's retaining clips haven't broken or I'm sure there would be way more negative reviews.
I don't agree with your review advice though or at least there is much more intricacies that whoever is reading this needs to learn as well. **edit i have both the glass and plastic ones, i use plastic ones only for storing dry pantry items, snacks and garnishes (ie chopped scallions and herbs) these seal very well and definitely keep your fridge from getting smelly. top tip for extracting the lid -ensure the locking mechanism is fully lifted so the seal can be released by the tiny air holes underneath
