SUNLU PLA is being used as a low cost everyday filament, with transparent colors printing especially well and looking remarkably clear, including a pure clear option labeled Transparent. The price for four rolls stands out, and the filament is described as consistent on a Bambu X1C. The main drawback is brittleness, especially with white PLA and PLA left sitting in the printer or PTFE tube, where it can snap at the feed point. Drying may help if the filament has absorbed moisture, making this a practical budget pick with some color specific quirks.

  • People buying white PLA for general use, because the white rolls have been described as the most troublesome color across brands.

  • Owners of a Bambu X1C who want a consistent everyday PLA, because it prints reliably and has been called the preferred filament for that printer.

  • Makers printing clear decorative parts, because the transparent PLA prints well and comes out remarkably clear.

  • People storing PLA loaded in a PTFE-fed printer for long periods, because the filament can snap while sitting in the tube.

  • Users who need a tough, flexible-feeling filament, because this PLA can become brittle and break easily.

  • Print farms relying on white PLA for consistent output, because white rolls have shown repeated issues while other colors have been fine.

Pla is hygroscopic. It will need dried for several hours before being able to print if its been exposed to humidity for a prolonged period of time.
PLA is probably the least hygroscopic out of any filament and while drying can enhance printing, it rarely needs to be dried. I've gone through hundreds of rolls of various sunlu PLA and don't think I've ever had to dry it prior to using it.

Anyone else have their sunlu pla just randomly break just sitting there? I have white pla+ and I keep coming to my printer and finding it broken where it feeds in.
It's a sign on cheap, crappy filament. They didn't put the right ingredients in it to keep it from going brittle.

This is false. I have had pla sit in open air for 5 years and still print fine and not become brittle. Brittle filament is just crap filament. Stop buying cheap crap .

Wait till you get a printer and have 40 rolls, but can't decide what to print.

That's me. I have 4 spools left. Nothing to print. I know what not to print again ))))

This appears to be dead. Needed translucent, might bite the bullet and spend the current price
