The Daiwa QR is a compact ultralight reel that stands out for ice fishing and light freshwater setups, with a larger spool than many UL reels that helps reduce line memory, twist, and slow pickup. It also folds down easily for storage, and the QR750 specs list 3 plus 1 bearings, a 5.1 to 1 gear ratio, and a 7 pound drag. The main knocks are a stiff bail close and limited appeal at this price compared with other reel deals.
Ice anglers wanting a compact reel with less line twist, because the larger spool helps reduce memory and slow pickup.
Trout anglers using light line, because the reel is spec'd for 4-pound mono and pairs well with 2-pound test.
Ultralight bass anglers fishing braid around cover, because 4-10 pound braid is said to work well for that setup.
Kayak anglers who want a fun ultralight setup, because the rod-and-reel style has held up to snagging branches and still makes small fish enjoyable.
Anglers who want a reel for heavier line setups, because the reel is spec'd around 4-pound mono capacity.
Anglers wanting to fish sabikis, because the reel is not made for that stiff rig.
Buyers expecting a reel with an easy bail close, because the handle needs more turning pressure than older reels.
Shoppers wanting a heavier all-purpose reel for a 30-inch light ice rod, because this size is heavily used for ice fishing instead.

One thing I don't like is how much handle turning pressure is needed to close the bail on some of these. My old circa 1970s Mitchell reels are still working, and the bails close so much easier.
