This Gears of War E Day Xbox controller stands out as a collector focused limited edition with strong visual detail, including 3D etching and raised accents that feel more special than a simple color swap. The design gets praise for looking distinctive, and the Xbox battery setup is defended as flexible because it can use AA cells or rechargeable packs. The main knocks are the $90 price, the lack of included rechargeable batteries, and worries about stick drift or sticky triggers over time. A flashy pick if the design matters more than the hardware debate.
Xbox players who prefer replaceable AA power, because the controller can run on rechargeable AAs or other battery types instead of a sealed internal pack.
Tinkerers who like serviceable hardware, because the controller can be opened and fitted with different battery options rather than being treated as disposable.
Collectors who want a limited-edition controller with standout sculpted details, because the raised etching and textured features make it feel more special than a simple color swap.
Competitive players who need long-term stick reliability, because stick drift and sticky controls can appear within weeks or months and make the controller unusable.
Buyers who want a sealed rechargeable controller with no battery hassle, because this design relies on replaceable AA power or an added pack instead of an included internal battery.
Shoppers expecting premium hardware at this price, because $90 is described as barebones and other controllers at the same price can offer TMR sticks.

I hate internal batteries on controllers. They're usually cheap and don't last long.. ps4 and dualsense are garbage.
I put Ikea 2400mah batteries in my xbox controllers and they last weeks before needing to be recharged.
it's even funnier that you're claiming they're defending Sony as if they're the only company who uses rechargeable batteries in their controllers, when that's literally the exact opposite: Micro$oft is the only company who still uses AA batteries in their controllers. Nintendo, Sony, 8bitdo, literally every single other company uses rechargeable batteries because they're way more convenient. And most people who use the Xbox controllers end up buying rechargeable battery packs anyways.
there is certainly a fanboy here, and it's you
Just bought a Razer Wolverine (Hall Effect) and Scuf Valor Pro (TMR). Haven't used them enough, but so far I really like my Elite 2 controller.
even 8BITDO controllers include them and the ability to swap them for cheaper
