I think this is the best design. When the rechargeable battery dies in other controllers, it's cheaper and easier to throw that controller away rather than replace the battery. These work for 20+ hours with NiMH cheap rechargeable batteries. I still use my controller from early Xbox one era.

I don't know why you all keep saying this, as nobody has used AA batteries in a Xbox controller since the 360. Everyone uses a rechargeable pack. Stop with the nonsense.

I've had mine for over 10 years and no issues. But both my controller have sticky triggers though. The rubber sticker damper on the trigger deteriorates over time and becomes sticky. Maybe they made them better long ago but I've seen some videos of joystick swap with hall,tmr but requires soldering.

I've gone through so many Xbox controllers. Some developed stick drift within weeks of using it. I keep all the boxes in case I need to return and I only buy them when they are around $45.

Is there a way to fix the sticky triggers? I've had two basically die on me b/c of the the right trigger consistently sticking in and now the controller is largely unusable b/c of it.

I agree, a rechargeable battery you cannot remove is far worse.
