Is this a good deal? Does the one with batteries come to a similar price at all?

You need to use the updated HP batteries to get full power. This appears to work well for light jobs. Reviews discuss a warped cutting table and issues with the fence. I am a bit surprised that so many reviews discuss it having more power than anticipated, which sounds great. If I were in the market....

I have this and it's great for basic work, though i never cut more than a 2 by 4. I wish it was hybrid, ie also had a plug-in but i've never run a battery out so it's fine.

This is always a hot take, but I think these things are too dangerous for their worth. They are underpowered and too light to do substantial cutting. 8 1/4 is a weird size to find quality blades. If you need to cut wood in a long straight line, get a track saw: (ryobi version) https://www.ryobitools.com/products/33287211418
