It's not so much for the driver lol.

I'm more curious about how this unit processes sound. Many stock head units have manufacturer "equalizer" aka processing. Switching out head units sometimes causes a loss in volume as a result

I think I'm interested in getting something like this for my old car. How does it work? Does my phone connect to the screen via android auto (wifi+bt),, then the screen connects to my car audio via bluetooth? Will the screen be able connect to two different things via bt at the same time?

They're a little weird to set up but I have one and they are worth it. Really odd choice to not have Google maps as a baked in app to these since you can download maps and potentially drive without a connection. They only have video apps and androidauto/carplay.

Thats good to hear! Just curious, how different would this be to using a regular android tablet?

It's just like one but their form factor and included accessories like the suction cup or 3m sticky pads are included. The software IS set up for you to ensure you get to Android auto fast, versus an Android tablet you'd have to set up for it (not sure how'd you get carplay through a regular tablet either).

The power turns off when car is turned off, the carplay/android auto loads fairly fast when you start your car and you can split screen from Netflix and Android auto as well. If your technical its very much an Android tablet but they mustve made the software to be user friendly for driving which I give them credit for.

So I've been researching for an Android radio head for my car. The number one complaint people have with them is the HVAC controls. They often don't work or only work intermittently. The only brand that seems to have this figured out is Xtrons because they include a CANbox with their Accord units for controlling the HVAC. They also have the least complaints and have been in the business for awhile. I'm waiting for a sale to grab one. Also get a unit with at least 4gb of RAM or the os will run very slow.
