This is a great rod, but their warranty is a joke! Almost $80 to replace a rod you paid $40 for.

Dobyn's is known as an industry leader when it comes to their warranty program. I should say that this reputation was built pre-sellout to GSM outdoors so things MAY be changing... The warranty really only makes sense on their mid to upper tier lines of rods. I'm not sure if it is realistic to expect much warranty when you buy a $40 rod. Especially when you consider shipping costs.

It was a Maverick that I got on a deal on Amazon.

I paid $45 for it. LOL

Both spinning and casting rods were /are available. Crankbait and mag heavy casting were the cheapest though

I think you're confusing a damage replacement versus a warranty. Not many rod companies will replace a rod that you broke for any amount other than buying it yourself. If you have manufacturers defects they will replace it. I've had one replaced by them. When you crush your rod in a car door, it's not a bad deal to get $125 rod for $ 80 lol
