Kind of an unusual use case, I have an older one of these from the same company. Same wattage etc, I use it in my SUV to manage a sub panel in the back of the car I wired when I did a stereo upgrade. The idea being the inverter provides 120v outlets in the back of my car various devices (TV, Cooler, Speakers, whatever). Then if I ever want to charge the 12v engine battery I can plug this unit into the wall with an extension cord.

The title and pictures say 600, but the full description says 3000. Wonder which one is correct. Would be a crazy good deal for a 3000 watt pure sine wave

Could I use this as a form of a UPS? The problem I have is that my desktop has a 1650W PSU with a max draw of around 1400W, and while I don't plan on running it full tilt in a power outage, most UPS units max out at 1000W.

Get some version of a Kill-A-Watt and see what your actual usage is. Keep in mind that if you're on the battery, you likely aren't gaming so your draw from the battery is likely well below 1000W.

Ultimately, an UPS should either let you shutdown safely, or bridge a small gap to power restoration

I'm not sure it has any way to tell the computer it's running on battery power. You might be able to use it for a bit, but usually you want a UPS to tell the computer "hey, I'm on battery, it's time to shut down."

I ordered this to get better use out of a large 12V 280Ah battery I have sitting around. Going to make a single appliance backup, in this case for my fridge. I'm using a Delta 2 as my fridge backup right now but would like to do something else with it. I'll have a smart outlet controlling the input to the charger/inverter so I can manually cycle the system to off-grid battery power occasionally. There will be a fuse right at the battery for protection.
