The Monoprice Monolith M2100X is a two channel power amplifier that stands out for strong, clean output at its sale price. It is described as driving passive speakers well, even in ceiling and multi room setups, with little distortion until extreme levels and a noticeable lift in larger home theater systems. The main limitation is that it has no volume control, so it needs a separate preamp, receiver, or other source with volume handling. The XLR inputs are also described as unbalanced, so balanced use should be checked before buying. A solid modular amp if you already have the rest of the chain.

  • The amplifier can deliver a clean sound floor with little distortion or clipping until extreme levels.

  • The amp can drive in-ceiling stereo speakers that were damaging integrated receivers effectively.

  • The amp can provide a noticeable upgrade when powering front, surround, and height speakers in a multi-channel setup.

  • The amp can be useful for freeing receiver channels by powering left and right channels with dedicated 90 W output.

  • The amplifier lacks volume control and requires an external preamp or head unit for volume adjustment.

  • The amplifier may not provide truly balanced performance through XLR inputs, so balanced-use buyers should verify first.

  • The amp's continuous 90 W output can be misunderstood versus peak power marketing, which may affect expectations.

  • The sound improvement from adding a similar power amp can be slight and system-dependent for multi-channel speaker setups.

Do you play loud or moderate? Most solid state amps sound the same until stressed. Klipsch speakers are relatively easy to drive. High sensitivity and impedance if you aren't stressing your current amps, the money would be better spent elsewhere.
I want to play louder but the dog always sits in front of the speakers. So mostly moderate now. Maybe I should save the money for now

Someone mentioned hat these aren't true balanced when using the XLR inputs. Verify if you buying it for the balanced input.

Have you by any chance seen a product page and clicked on specifications? Try it. Check it out.

Balanced connections typically cost more. Much more. 💡
*In this case it's listed under product description (1st tab)

Asking the pros here. My current setup is Yamaha RX-A1070 with Klipsch RP8000F as fronts. Will I get noticeable improvement in performance if adding this to drive the fronts via preouts? Alternatively I could use this to drive 2 surround backs and free those to bi-wire the fronts with the receiver. Do you think either will improve current set up meaningfully? Thank you!
Have you heard of audio science forum?
Check out a poster named Amir who reviews mid to flagship AVRs. While I don't think he tested your AVR I'm pretty sure he tested the Yamaha RX-A1080.

Is this good to power passive speakers for a turntable? Or does that require soaking specific? I'm just getting into the hobby
This is a power amp. Meaning no volume control. You would need a preamp or phono. That has volume control.
