If you are plugging in devices that are worth more than $300 you should spend the extra $20-40 for a proper well rated surge protector like the one above

there are lists online if that brand or size doesnt suit your needs, specs matter, some much more than others

Plugging in a $1500 laptop or $2000 TV into a $12 surge protector is not the move

not good enough. you should be using a line conditioner. I use a Panamax for my equipment.
