If you actually look at the reviews they're all complaints about breakage during transit. Have you actually installed one of these?

Gonna post this in every Toto thread with people parroting "1.28 gpf is trash, only get 1.6 gpf." I did a lot of research on this because I was paranoid they were right.

But I've read from multiple places from plumbers who install these toilets for a living, that you can essentially make this 1.28 Drake flush like a 1.6 by holding the handle down and emptying the tank. So I see that as a win for efficiency, can tap the handle for pee and hold for poop. Even then a light normal flush takes care of poop just fine.

Got 2 from the last Costco sale @$300 and love them. The Cefontec (sp?) coating is great and we have to clean the toilets 3x less frequently as our old ones.

For the trash talkers who says these suck, why spend so much and so on, they either don't own one, don't value the quality of life a good toilet/bed/etc provides, OR have gigantic nasty ass shits that even a $5,000 toilet couldn't help.

I wouldn't get the Costco version. The trap size is smaller than the non Costco version and I can't get past that stupid "handle down" alignment. Every guest who uses it will see it and assume it's broken

We got the Amazon one because it's 1.6 gallon. We have a century old house and the toilet is in the basement. So we prefer 1.6 gallon over the 1.2 gallon for better sewage flow. Otherwise, the costco deal is so much better with all the accessories included.

The special cleaning requirements make this toilet more trouble than it's worth. You can't use traditional toilet bowl cleaner. You just know at some point that someone is going to use toilet bowl cleaner in it. Not worth the risk.
