With Qatar's GTL Plant closed due to missile attacks, Pennzoil can't get the base stock for this oil.
It's cheaper because it's not as good. In turbo engines it's only as good as a 5,000 mile OCI vs the 10,000 mile the previous Platinum and Ultra Platinum options were capable of.

I thought it had always been made from Natural Gas? I remember reading that on the label probably 10 years ago.
No idea where the other posters get his 5k/10k mile idea. These are fine for 10k miles for turbo engines.
