I've been playing ball in these for the last 4 to 5 months one to two times per week and they are still holding up well.

Not the most stylish but absolutely the best for heel support/cushioning. Good deal.

One of the best shoes I've worn, and I've played basketball for 30 years.

I have these in the purple colorway and they are very comfortable. So much cushion and very high off the ground (the highest heel stack of all my sneakers) so it lacks court feel and responsiveness of my other basketball shoes. It isn't a fast shoe for me but very comfortable. I prefer to be low to ground and rely on my shifty guard quickness. These are very comfortable though like you are running on a marshmallows and is very cushioning for high jumping though. It definitely makes me want to jump higher for rebounds, blocks, layups and jump shots because the shock absorption is so nice. Fun shoe for me but not necessarily the best playing shoe for me. These colorways are pretty simple and conservative so you could wear these casually too.

  • It fits true to size and I am a wide footer. I didn't get the STANDARD fit. I got the 2E (wide fit) version.

If they are anything like the V2s .

By far the most comfortable shoes I ever worn.

I don't hoop anymore, but I wore them to a 3 day music festival and my feet never felt better

I bought both the New Balance TWO WXY V5 (2E) Grey-Grey $49.99 and New Balance Fresh Foam BB V3 (2E) Purple-Black $49.99 like 3 weeks ago at Sierra. The clearance sale is still on but the sizes are much more limited than earlier before. I have a wide foot (almost borderline extra wide) but I don't mind standard width basketball shoes at all. All of my basketball shoes are standard fit except these 2 New Balance shoes. You can cut harder with more snug shoe. More responsive.

How are they in reference to ankle support? I'm afraid with these so high off the ground they won't support the ankle too well and be more prone to ankle sprains.

These are low tops so there isn't any ankle support but they have solid stability and strong upper. I never felt like the shoe was going to tip over even though it is high stack. I am a wide footer, have strong calves/ankles and use good technique in basketball/tennis so I really don't roll my ankles by myself. If you do a jump shot/layup and your opponent steps under you, you could sprain your ankle on your landing and it won't matter what shoe you are wearing. I don't wear high tops for basketball and tennis but I do wear casual high tops retro basketball sneakers. High tops take the pressure off the ankles over constant cutting. If I box/kickbox in low tops, my ankles could be a little sore the next day. If I box in high tops, my ankles are never ever sore the next day. To me high tops help ankle support and really take pressure off the ankles from constant cutting rather than support in rolling ankle. If a sneaker has a strong upper and wide enough base, you shouldn't roll it even if it is a bit higher height stack assuming good technique.

It's showing up as $59.99 in my cart. Not $49.99. Anyone else running into the same issue and know how to troubleshoot?

Maybe worth a try for me at $50. I am on the heavier side and if it bottoms out before any other wear and tear then it would be a waste. Also, I need this for more of racquet sports like pickleball, racquetball, etc.
