In case it helps, my freezer defrost drain use to ice up completely solid. I wrapped a solid copper wire around the heater element and down to the drain entrance. Haven't had a problem since.

These work REALLY well to melt through iced up fridge (if you do not have frost free ones or if your defrost system is broken) or ice blocked gutters.

Its steam cleaning, the heat and steam help to break up and lift off the stain. May need to get rinsed off or wiped up but when I did my tiled in shower it was able to pull up plenty of stains.
