Anyone have any experience with these? I have a whole hue system and am about to add cameras. Deciding between Reolink or simply adding these.

I know Reolink are better but I do already have a whole hue ecosystem.

Same whole HUE ecosystem here 100+ devices. I have been looking into over the past few weeks myself. --- I haven't decided yet, either. Quick FYI, this two pack was for sale on woot two days ago, for approx $65 in white. There was an additional 20% off with a purchase of 3+ HUE products.Maybe check out if there's still available there 1st. Just in case.I like Reolink for their PTZ options, but with the HUE system, I'm on the fence too.

Nooo way 😜

I get it though… it's simpler than it sounds. You're overlooking the small add-on switches and motion sensors. Before the bulbs received the sensing upgrade, multiple motion sensors were required; before the Hue app update, there were Hue and Hue Sync—a dedicated set of Hue Play items like light bars, TV strips, and the sync box—originally had some layover lighting representing separate areas of the same room for lighting and play in the same room. Then came integration into Samsung OLED instead of the Sync Box. As I consider all this, I have a few custom Play lamps, a rear floodlight, and some outdoor motion sensors n light strips. Nearly every room in my house has between five lights and devices at the minimum and nineteen in the master bedroom, and I also have some Hue Lutron gear.

TLDR
Basically, I enjoy incredibly comforting and detailed mood lighting (peace to play).

Regular House, HUE lighting 😜

Unless you absolutely need your cameras triggering your Hue lights in the native app, go with Reolink. The Hue cameras don't have SD card slots or local storage, meaning you're forced into a monthly subscription just to see recorded clips. Reolink gives you free local storage and better quality, and you can still tie them together later with Home Assistant if you want.

I'm slow to let my system update apps. I'm old school, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
But integrating those two would be nice. Have to consider this.

Now tell me more about the Samsung OLED instead of Sync? That could be nice if I ever
buy a 2nd tv. (Current is LG OLED).

Ohh.. never mind. Now I see it, one tme purchase through the app store. Since I already own 2 sync's I'm good. Thanks for the heads up.

Philips Hue ecosystem can be expensive but worth it. I try to keep the house simple regarding tech.

• Philips Hue lighting
• Ecobee Sensors
• Apple TV 4K(s) [x5] w/HomeKit / HomeKit SKV Mesh Network / Hardwired

Keeping it simple helps w/ network traffic + device response time

That's my 2cents

hue ecosystem here.

Reolink doorbell camera. local storage and no sub fees, always.

if these cameras are atand alone, you'll have to pay for storage and cloud subscriptions. if they allow connection to a PC or NVR, you'll have to pay today's outrageous prices or already have something you're willing to use for recording, which is unlikely as you would already know what you're in for.

when I did my research for a new doorbell cam, Reolink came up as one of the only options to keep local.

if I want to make my lights blink or whatever, I can use ITTT, Tasker, or maybe home assistant when I get further down the degoogle path.

Go with Reolink or any NVR system! I have been running their system before Philips Hue even released cameras. I learned from Blink that the local NVR setup is an advantage. Because it processes locally instead of routing through a cloud server, you avoid the annoying 1–3 second stream delay from cloud-based cameras like Blink or Hue.

If you are patient and tech savvy look into Home Assistant to integrate Reolink with the rest of your smart home. This allows you to use Reolink's camera features (like motion sensors and built-in lights) to trigger anything else in your house. Going this route requires a bit of a learning curve and some basic Linux knowledge if you want to set it up cheaply, but it makes everything fully customizable. It also saves you from the "Hue tax" I ended up using cheap IKEA sensors and a researched a budget-friendly HomeKit garage opener option, and everything runs seamlessly through Apple HomeKit and Home Assistant.

**edited to add any NVR system may be better (imo)
