Not a bad price, but 8GB of memory makes it basically unusable for Windows. Put Linux on it and you might have a nice option for basic computing. $450 for a computer with only 8GB of memory is wild, what a time to be alive, thanks AI companies.

That's the real question. $450 for an 8GB laptop is insane, but that's where we're at nowadays. That said:
  • If it's 8GB with an open RAM slot, at least it provides a foundation for something usable.
  • If it's 8GB in a single RAM slot, that's less than ideal, but still usable.
  • If it's 8GB soldered with an open slot, that limits your upgrade path, but at least there's something.
  • If it's 8GB soldered with no expansion, this thing is a non-starter (unless, again, you're planning to install Linux, and even then, it's not a great base).

Quick search is coming back with two RAM slots (likely one RAM slot filled with 8GB stick), so if that's the case...still hate what the tech companies have done to prices, but it is what it is, and at least this would be a decent base to start from. The processor still isn't great though.

When you plug in the model number it looks like it has two ram slots and the ability to upgrade, doesn't seem like it's soldered in. So hopefully when ram prices come down this could be a pretty nice little machine

According to the Q&A on the product page (https://www.lg.com/us/laptops/lg-...ram-laptop), the RAM is not upgradable.
