It's a great deal for a 2024 TV, discount price was typically closer to 1300-1400 during prior holidays IIRC. I'm not sure it's a better deal than the 85" QM6K Pro at Costco @ $1099-1199 given you get 5 year warranty with that, and it's a one-year newer TV.
At those prices, I would buy the TCL 85" QM7 (85QM751G) from Walmart for $958—with one important condition: verify that it's sold by Walmart or a reputable authorized seller and is new, not refurbished/open-box.

TCL QM7 85QM751G TCL QM6K Pro 85"
Price $958 Walmart 🏆 $1,190 Costco
Difference $232 cheaper +$232
Model year 2024 2025
Product tier QM7 – higher tier 🏆 QM6K – lower tier/newer generation
Mini-LED Yes Yes
HDR brightness Higher 🏆 Lower
Local dimming capability Better/stronger 🏆 Newer Halo Control
Black levels/HDR movies Better overall 🏆 Very good
Gaming Excellent Excellent
Bright-room reflections Good Better 🏆
Warranty Usually standard warranty 5 years total 🏆
Return policy Walmart policy Costco 90 days 🏆
Overall value at these prices ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐
You're paying 24% more for the Costco TV:
$1,190 − $958 = $232
Yet the $958 QM7 is actually the higher-tier television in TCL's lineup. The QM6K Pro's main advantages are that it's newer, has TCL's newer Halo Control/CrystGlow technology, and comes with Costco's excellent warranty package.
The $232 question
Essentially, you'd be paying Costco the extra $232 for:
For me, that's not enough to justify $232 more while stepping down from QM7 to QM6K.
🏆 My choice: TCL 85QM751G — $958
I'd save the $232 and get the QM7.
For an 85" TV, its stronger HDR brightness and local dimming are things you can actually see. You'll particularly notice the advantage with HDR movies and shows: bright highlights, nighttime scenes, stars, headlights, sunlight, etc.
There is one thing I'd check before ordering the Walmart one: the seller. Walmart.com frequently lists TVs from marketplace sellers.
If you send me the Walmart link, I'll check the $958 listing for you—seller, warranty, return policy, whether it's actually new, and whether there are any catches.
