The 77 inch C6H stands out as a brighter, higher tier OLED than the C5, with comments pointing to the tandem panel and stronger processing as the big upgrades. Picture quality is described as excellent, with especially strong upscaling for live sports and enough brightness to matter in rooms with ambient light. The glossy screen can reflect light, and the jump to LG G series models is seen as more compelling for gaming and warranty coverage. For a dark room, the main appeal is simply getting a larger, more immersive OLED with premium performance.

Worth it is subjective and depends on many factors when it comes to LG oled tv. It depends on your budget, how discerning are you about pq, your source media (Netflix on standard plan vs the 4k plan vs watching 4k blueray) , and your room placement (light controlled room vs lots of ambient light). I would say if this is your first oled TV, then even a c5 will blow you away. If you have tons of ambient lighting, you could consider a c6h or g5 if your budget permits. I have a b8 in my bedroom and I still love how good it is. It's not like these are cellphones where you are going to want to update it every 2 to 3 years.
I have a 65" LG A1 in my pitch black home theater, but my 65" TCL QM8K in my living room is making me really notice the lack of brightness and poor screen uniformity in the A1.

My source is 4k Blu-rays via a Shield Pro (Plex). I also game on a PS5.

I almost bought a G5, but heard that the color banding was poor, so I waited, and now they're all out of stock on the LG Partner Store.

Just trying to figure out the best value option, as I don't have a set budget. I'm open to paying more for a better TV if the price jump isn't disproportionate.

The G series is quite a bit better than the C series. I would definitely spring for the G series if you're able but especially if you're a gamer. I haven't been in the market in a few years so I'd have to research about the MLA tech and what is using what and such but I'm guessing I'd even take a G4 over the C6.
A C6H would beat out a G4, since C6H uses the same panel as a G5.

No, I have both c5 and g6 and brightness and black levels are not comparable. G6 is superb in every sense.
Not doubting that the G6 is better, but for 77", C6H is ~$2000 and G6 is $3000. Seems disproportionate to me. When the 77" G5 was ~$2300, the 77" C5 was $1600, but also didn't have the tandem panel, so the performance difference was more significant compared to C6H vs G6.

If you get a new tv, what do you plan to do with your current 77"? Just curious.
I currently have a 65" LG A1, and I will probably move it to the bedroom, where it will get minimal use.

My 77" C6H is in a relatively dark room with it's back to the only window so I can only say it can blind me if I don't turn down the brightness. I would fathom a guess it would take a really bright room for the brightness to be an issue however it is glossy and reflections are a thing if that matters in your environment. Now, the PQ is absolutely amazing with pretty much everything I throw at it! It seems the processor and maybe some of the panel are doing a really good job of up scaling or clarifying source media. 80% of what I watch is typical crappy live sports streams and up until I got the C6H I was constantly frustrated with the PQ they had. That part alone blows my C2 away in comparison.

Yeah, reflections aren't an issue for me, just a pitch black basement theater room. I've been leaning towards a 77" C5 for ~$1500, but with the 77" C6H dropping so quickly like this, I may just wait until Black Friday or Superbowl sales, and if the brightness turns out to be overwhelming, I'll just turn it down a bit and hopefully improve the panel longevity.

The included 5-year warranty in the G5/G6 is incredibly compelling though.

The main difference is that the LG C6H OLED TV uses an advanced dual-layer RGB tandem OLED panel with Hyper Radiant technology for much higher brightness, while the standard LG C6 OLED TV uses a traditional single-layer WLED EX panel

Touche'. I havent been in the market for a few years (my C2 and C3 have been awesome to me) and if the C6H is using the same panel as the G5, it would outclass the G4.

Wondering this as well. They are really undercutting every big box retailer here...

I'm debating it too. Greentoe seems risky. I'm on the 83" version of considering

Is this worth it over a 77" C5 (~$1600), 77" G6, or possibly a 77" G5 (~$2300 if I can find one for sale anymore)?
Yes. This is a much better TV than a C5. The G5 has a better warranty, however.
