Milwaukee's M12 Fuel 6 inch pruning hatchet is a compact cordless mini chainsaw that stands out for fast, easy limb trimming and one handed use. It has been praised for cutting limbs effortlessly, handling hedges and oak trees well, and holding up through heavy use over years. The bundle is especially attractive because it includes two 5.0Ah batteries and a charger, with the batteries alone seen as valuable. The main hesitation is that it is not hackable, and a few comments point to cheaper alternatives or question long term reliability. A strong fit for light yard work when portability matters.

Common Questions (4)

  • Yes. It is reported to work great on oak trees and to cut limbs effortlessly, making it well suited for yard pruning. One user also says it has been flawless for over 2 years of regular use.

  • Yes. The bundle is described as a strong deal because the Hatchet alone was paid for at $149, and the included batteries make the price especially attractive. It is also reported to be a durable, long-term tool that cuts limbs effortlessly.

  • Yes, it can be used one-handed, though that is not the safest way to operate it. The compact size is part of why it is preferred over larger alternatives for quick pruning jobs.

  • Yes. The included M12 5.0Ah batteries are reported to work great with other M12 tools like the 1/2-inch stubby, so the bundle can add value even if you already own compatible tools. They also have resale value, with one estimate around $100 locally.

I'm assuming he's talking about this https://a.co/d/0ar8OC5q which I didn't know existed. I think I'll give it a shot for $37 bucks. If it sucks, I'll have learned a lesson lol

I wish there were more trees so I have a justifiable reason to buy this. lol
Keep it in the car. Sooner or later, you'll come across a tree limb in the road. You will know what to do ...

Seems that knockoff Milwaukee is great value for money.

For hardwood, looks like the Milwaukee M18 is the best choice.

This seems like a hell of a deal to get into the Milwaukee ecosystem. I've been wanting a 1/2" stubby torque wrench for some time. Are these the right batteries for that?

Great tool! I've had mine for over 2+ years and it's been flawless. My wife loves it and claims it as hers. She used it yesterday while we were trimming the hedges. She and I would give it 5 out of 5 stars! This is a great price with the batteries included!
Trimming hedges with a chain saw.... cool story bro.

I love this mini chainsaw. I actually like it better than the DeWalt version. You can use it with 1 hand which is probably not the best idea but you can lol

Yes these m12 5ah batteries are great for the m12 1/2 inch stubby. I have the 3/8 which is the same exact thing just a different anvil and I use the crap out of it.
