A bonus saving strategy - anyone tried shipping it to a sales tax free state (like Delaware), perhaps to a hotel address?I checked this idea with AI and it warns of fraud detection potentially declining payment or shipment.(And if you're thinking to have shipping courier route to FedEx or UPS pick up location - AI says HP does not allow that). If yall have better work around I'm all ears. For Amazon purchases one can do pickup at an Amazon locker or counter in Delaware.
Scalpers have been using that so certain retailers will not permit Delaware purchases. Also if you don't live in Delaware you could get in hot water for tax evasion. Don't recommend this

G914 has top cpu and more ram / storage configured. You need to compare apple to apples as much as you can and not just this deal as is.

Go thru the configurator to up the Spec of the HP to match then compare the price yourself is best bet.
this or this alienware?
I'm looking at an Alienware Area-51 for $4,727.39 after tax:
  • RTX 5090 32GB
  • Core Ultra 7 265K
  • 32GB DDR5-7200 (2x16GB)
  • 1TB Gen5 NVMe SSD
  • 1500W Platinum PSU
  • 360mm liquid cooling
  • Wi-Fi 7
  • 1-year onsite warranty
Subtotal is $4,346.99, with $380.40 in tax.
Is this a good deal for a 5090 system, or would you go with something else at this price?

I ordered one. HP gave me 2k for my 45L with the 4090 that got peed on via their now defunct Gamer protection plan. I'm currently running the 5080 deal from alienware and I'm gonna give that machine to my wife.

Not a bad price with 5090 prices right now and only going up.

Any laptops part of this sale? I keep seeing the FB ad from HP with BYESUMMER25 but it doesn't apply to any of the laptops in their ads.

Online reviewers say it is a custom HP Omen build.

Yes, it's a proprietary HP part, made specifically for this case, so I would hesitate to buy this if the plan is to resell the gpu.

Yes, it's pretty good!!!! latest open source that runs on this VRAM is Qwen 3.8 27B reported to be Opus 4.x level and Q4 only needs 17GB of RAM and I thought I saw peope reporting hitting 100 tgs with MTP (don't quote me on this lol - I have not confirmed this myself).
lol its funny seeing people downvote you despite the great insight and good deal.

It is. Substantial all metal construction. It is built like a tank. Basic lighting. No stupid RGBs

This deal is better if you value gaming, you get the 9800 X3D for only 4120 or so. No onsite support though.

My Amex Blue Business has an extra $200 off on HP. I don't need this, I already have a 5080, but I love a deal and FOMO! Pull the gpu and put it on eBay. Must resist!

Don't spread misinformation when you have no clue what is really in it.

The only thing proprietary about this entire AMD Omen is the front-panel I/O.

$6 part is all you need if you ever want to move the motherboard to a standard case.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GMHRPQJX

Everything else is standard fit and ports etc. No funny connectors, no special PSU, no weird cables for fans etc. Whatever urban legends people have about HP proprietary parts.

GPU is usable in any other motherboard's PCI-E slot. Down to the side screw holes on 50xx long cards where it can be used with fancier brackets to secure the card down. Far better than a simple ant-sag stick under it. These screw holes is what HP used to secure the card down like a tank in the machine.

Lenovo has similar extra study GPU brackets. Nothing proprietary about the GPU card themselves that makes it so you can't take it and use it somewhere else. Clearly you have zero experience with these type of machines... lol

People who spread misinformation without bothering to check the facts are worse than a glitchy AI.

Do check the eBay prices and calculate the fees for profitability.

Also, I am leery of bad actors who will make claims against you and then you are out a GPU if someone was able to pull of a scam off of an eBay buy. AFAIK, eBay/Paypal are always on the side of the buyers even if they are shady.

72 hours "Flash" sale... so don't wait too long.

but they do have sales at least once a month.

I'm promoting the hell out of these deals cuz they are awesome and I will get them every time.

I love for people to get more "Free" PCs with the GPUs!
