HP OMEN MAX 45L (RTX 5090) Deal Breakdown

An HP Omen MAX 45L equipped with an Nvidia RTX 5090, 32GB RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD drops close to the $3,900 my 5090 Pre-Built benchmark price when stacking the AWAKENING25 (or BYESUMMER25) promo codes alongside EPP discounts.

Pricing Breakdown:
  • AMD Ryzen 7 9700X Variant: $3,942
  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Variant: $4,120

Paying a $178 premium for the 9800X3D makes sense if your primary focus is pure gaming, as its 96MB 3D V-Cache delivers roughly 15–20% higher average FPS and noticeably better 1% low frame times. However, if you want a lower baseline cost or need a balanced rig for productivity and gaming, the 9700X is the smarter play.

Don't forget to activate your CC options first!

Step 1: Choose Your Base Configuration
Step 2: Key Component Options that are REQUIRED
  1. Select the Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU.
  2. Select the mandatory 1200W PSU upgrade.
  3. I am going with another change on RAM, bumping the memory configuration to a 2x16GB (32GB) RAM layout (+$20 before discounts). Choosing dual 16GB sticks over a single 32GB module provides me flexibility to split memory into secondary rigs later that I only need 16GB and where RAM speed, while still keeping a clear path to 64GB. This also gives you better performance with Dual Channel if you need better performance. Anyway, I am adding this option for myself for $20 more

Step 3: Checkout Promo Codes
Quote :
Apply coupon code AWAKENING25 at checkout for 25% off.
Keep BYESUMMER25 on standby as an alternative or stacking option in case site rules update!

Why I like AMD over Intel (Core Ultra 7 265K) on this HP Platform?
  • Front I/O & Headers: Includes a functional front-panel USB-C port and a dedicated motherboard USB-C header.
  • Power Efficiency: Operates at a conservative 65W CPU base power target vs. the 125W power draw on Intel.
  • X3D Option for true Gaming edge: If you are a gaming, this is a no brainer to get 9800X3D
  • Refreshed Case Design: Uses HP's updated chassis revision with subtle, cleaner front-panel aesthetics.

Shipping says 8/21 for 9700X base! 9800X3D and memory was 8/24. More than a week ahead of Ultra 265k deal. Date may slip but it's ok since this is a better deal.

Yes, it's pretty good!!!! latest open source that runs on this VRAM is Qwen 3.8 27B reported to be Opus 4.x level and Q4 only needs 17GB of RAM and I thought I saw peope reporting hitting 100 tgs with MTP (don't quote me on this lol - I have not confirmed this myself).

I know the overall price is high, but this might be the last/best deal we see on a 5090 in a long time.

I've noticed the cheapest 5090s at Microcenter are now ~$4200. So with this deal, you're literally getting a whole PC for free w/5090 purchase.

I could only get it down to $4087 as only the 'awakenings' code worked for me. Still, pretty good!

Yes, you need EPP stacking else it's $4087 for the 9700X version.

My screenshot here has the extra $20 (before discount for the 16x2 RAM config)

GOOD LUCK.

Oh don't preach about how it's a whole PC free/super cheap..., lots of people don't believe it, best let them think it's right cuz there is no making sense for them why this is such a good deal for them to acquire 5090's. More for us anyway. wootwootwootwootwootwootwoot

Also,

Crappy prices galore. 4399.99 | MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G SUPRIM LIQUID SOC (Factory Reconditioned) at Woot.... who would buy this kind of junk at this price.... https://slickdeals.net/f/19883949-4399-99-msi-geforce-rtx-5090-32g-suprim-liquid-soc-factory-reconditioned-at-woot?v=1&src=SiteSearch

No, if your employer has an arrangement with HP (like mine does), you can get the discount. I ordered one successfully (~$4600 after tax).

GPUs are appreciating like used cars during covid in 2021, soon to be collateralized layers like CDOs in 2006. Let's buy more NVDA calls before earnings.

Ah OK I got the lower price when I logged in. I see a +$5 option for a Wi-Fi 7 card... last I checked these cards were having trouble with AMD motherboards/CPUs, I guess they sorted that out?

I have tried both version both and they worked fine -- well for me I can get 300mbs off of internet transfers which is my FIOS cap. I don't have heavy at-home machine to machine file transfers to notice any issues either.

DDR5 is considered difficult when it's mixed size or mix brands - it's what I read when I was thinking about mixing 16x2 with 32x2 and diff brands

Anyway, I've had success using a diff set of 32GBx2 Corsair and forgot the other brand to run 128GB.

In general, you may not be able to overclock the RAM and they could be locked at 4800 MT/s in pre-builts. I had issues with Lenovo as well but I'm fine with 128GB at 4800MT. Some may discourage you but whatever, I'm pretty sure I can't notice the difference between 4800MT 5600 and 6000 with the stuff I run.
