If it's under $1 per pound, it's a good deal!

I bought 40s a few months ago. One thing I don't care for is the bulk the rubber coating adds. They feel gigantic and cut down my range of motion. BTW, has anyone ever cut that coating off?

I have to agree on this. I have their 60 and 70lb and they are huge (kids and wive are impressed when I hold them lol)

I wouldn't try cutting it off. I have 50 lb ones I got from Target that have started to develop cracks (on the beveled edges that never get touched, so a mystery as to why they've appeared). For some routines (barbell press) I sometimes feel like I'm getting sand in my eyes (probably lead power, but I still tell myself it's sand), so I wouldn't count on the core to be a single block of metal.
