I've never had stick drift with the elites. However, they do not use Hall Effect sticks, it's possible.I've gotten stick drift in nearly every Xbox One / Series controllers but never an issue with the Elite. My kids are rough on them also.

Yes. Owned 3 of them and they all got stick drift around one year after warranty is up. I changed to 3rd party with Hall effect ones and very happy with it.

Not stick drift, but bumper button issues. Always by with extra warranty. Ive had two, and that was the only issue I had with them.

I've only had one elite controller. Had it for a few years, no stick drift. The rubber is what is preventing me from buying another. Any suggestions on preventing the rubber from eventually separating from the controller?

Xbox still hasn't fixed their stick drift issue. So until then, I don't plan on buying another one again.

If you're wanting something similar to an Xbox controller. I've been really enjoying the Gamesir controllers. Gamestop sells a budget friendly one called the Gamesir T7 for $29.99. The only downside is its wired, but it works great, has HE sticks and is plug and play ready on my Xbox and PC as well. I've heard their wireless pro versions are nice as well, but they are in the $80+ range.

I've not had any stick drift myself over many years of heavy use. However, others have. That said, I recently got a Razer Wolverine v3 Pro, and love it. I didn't expect it to, but it's been really good. Hall Effect sticks though, rather than TMR is the only complaint. But in use, you can't really tell the difference. It just sips a little bit more power.

The only other complaint is that the 1k Hz polling on PC is only over wired. This sadly applies to Scuf controllers as well. So the only other alternative is Gamesir G7 Pro, that do wireless 1k Hz polling (on PC only, not Xbox). Unfortunately, it is CCP supported so it's really well priced, but you'd be fueling authoritarianism. I don't blame you if you get that though.

The look, feel, and customization of these controllers is excellent and really makes for some solid ergonomics and a nice ability to tweak stick/trigger sensitivity or add additional flippers at the rear. When everything works, it's an excellent controller and has felt durable and a bit rugged, still looking like new for me at several years old, though I admittedly obsess on caring for my stuff, so I'm not sure how well it holds up to a bit more abuse or kids playing with them.

Like a couple of other reviews have mentioned, long term reliability is unfortunately a factor, and at this price point, makes these impossible to recommend. I've owned two and the first one eventually became unplayable due to left stick drift in under a year of VERY little use (I mostly play FPS/RTS on a PC and only use a controller for a handful of 3rd Person games). I opened it to clean and diagnose the problem but was only able to make a marginal improvement.

The second one had the left bumper progressively lose sensitivity in under a year as well. It still works but you really have to jam it in to get it to register, making it super impractical for any fast paced games/online play. I will likely open this one as well due to it being out of warranty to see if I can get it back up to 100%, as otherwise I'm just going to swap to a $40~$60 8BitDo or something along those lines.

Still so disappointed in Xbos that these components are so low quality that they break under such minimal wear and tear. I have a mix of about a dozen controllers in my house ranging from N64, Gamecube Wavebirds, and a Switch Pro Controller that have seen thousands of hours of use and all still work with zero complications.

Poor quality. In the rare occasion you don't get stick drift, you'll definitely get sticky buttons, bumpers not registering, rubber peeling off, etc.
