ASUS Prime RX 9070 16GB OC is a strong value play for 4K gaming, especially if a little tuning can push it close to 9070 XT performance. The price is viewed as only slightly above MSRP and still competitive against current Nvidia pricing, with the 16GB model seen as better value than a 5060 Ti 16GB. The main drawback is that nearby 9070 XT deals can land close enough to make this less compelling. Case fit also matters, since some competing cards are described as very large.
Common Questions (3)
It is slightly above MSRP, but still considered reasonable in the current market and better value than many alternatives. A 9070 XT within about $50 would be the stronger buy, but XT pricing is often higher and harder to find.
The ASUS Prime card is not described as oversized, while PowerColor 9070 XT models are called massive and over 12 inches long. Smaller cards like Gigabyte models are noted as fitting in compact cases such as the Cooler Master NR200P, but large PowerColor cards may not fit sub-300mm cases.
It can reportedly be clocked to very close to 9070 XT performance with a few minutes of tuning. That makes the $629.99 price more attractive if you want near-XT performance without paying XT pricing.

Won't fit every case.
Given the absurd new Nvidia pricing schemes, this is a solid deal. There's no way that AMD's cards retain these prices for long. Get it while you can.

I got my xfx mercury 9070xt for 650 back then so i am pretty happy. Nvidia doesnt seem like they care to announce another card anytime soon and the same with amd.

This is coming from a dude who bought a 5080 for $930 Nov. of last year before AI prices pushed them into almost 5090 territory against everyone saying the Supers were coming out in Q2 of this year. Horrible price to performance but I didn't mind at the time nor could I have seen AI prices destroy the GPU market. Also purchased the Powercolor for $650. I was lucky. So it's a gamble to get it now or wait. I would wait. The market seems to be correcting a bit as demand goes down.
