The QD5 is considered entry level with no local dimming, vs the U6 that was $999 at costco recently. The U7 is even better than the U6 and is $1600 at costco.

U6 at Costco for $999... For what size, 85" or 100"?

Picked this up last November and had an extra 100 back from credit card, making it 900 pre-tax. Serves as primary TV in the living room. Honestly, looks beautiful, Google TV works seamlessly and PS5 plays flawlessly on it. If the U6 another poster mentioned is the same size, then yeah no brainer. But really, I think this TV would be quite good for a majority of users. That said, TVs are one of the few electronic items that continue to trend down in terms of pricing... so it certainly shouldn't hurt to hold off, but really wanted to say, from personal experience, this is a solid TV.

This TV go back up to 1300 then 2 weeks later a store has it back for 999 again. It was 900 in February was this price a year ago and wouldn't surprise me if it's 800 at black Friday. No deal to be seen here

Having worked in the electronic business I found out a trick they do....
Many times the TV is capable of performing much better and it is restricted.... sometimes the panel is full-array with the local dimming feature permanently disabled.

*Similar to Intel using quadcore processors and disabling 2 cores !!!
