Good deal... unfortunately it's Amazon Resale; it's a complete gamble. Basically roll a dice and your chances of getting a six is about what your chances are of actually getting a "like new" item. Not worth the time and effort IMO. Amazon Resale's a joke now.

In my experience Like New has all been Like New.

Let people sleep on this if they want.

It's a godly deal in my opinion.

Sony WH 1000XM6 at this price is mainly an Amazon Resale gamble on a premium noise cancelling headphone, but the upside is strong when the unit arrives as described. The best reports describe packaging and headphones that look brand new, pair normally, and feel worth it at roughly half off or more. The main risk is condition roulette, with some orders arriving dirty, wrong, or missing parts, and refunds can turn into a long headache. Free returns and careful unboxing video help reduce the risk, making this a tempting open box style deal if the condition checks out.

  • Deal hunters upgrading from older Sony headphones, because the sound and fit can feel like a clear step up while the used unit still arrives looking new.

    Clu11152AndrewR4682LucidAngel

  • Shoppers comfortable inspecting and returning a used purchase, because the price can be excellent when the unit arrives in good condition.

    EdenXXIVeeTeeFBrandonG5

  • Buyers who want to avoid paying full price for a premium headset, because like-new units can arrive with no smudges, scratches, or wear.

    SerphsAndrewR4682LucidAngel

  • Shoppers who need a guaranteed like-new condition, because used listings can arrive badly worn, wrong, or missing parts.

    yrregyrregChronoTriggered

  • Buyers who want a low-hassle used purchase, because mis-shipped or mismatched boxes can turn into a long refund dispute.

    yrregChronoTriggered

  • People who need dependable warranty coverage, because Sony used or like-new units may not include a transferable manufacturer warranty.

Free return
No manufacture warranty on Sony Like-New / used cameras. I would check if headphone warranty is transferable. Great price.

Is the XM6 the version with the crappy hinges? Or was that the XM5?

I've had my XM3's for years, I love them. I've replaced the ear cups, battery, and charging port; all repairs were cheap and easy. I've also heard the the newer models are generally harder to repair....
XM5. XM6 fixed it

Consider yourself lucky then, my friend. Or perhaps I'm extremely unlucky. Back maybe a decade ago, I could say the same, but of the 5 or so "Used - Like New" items I've ordered in the past 2 years, only 1 was actually like new. One wasn't even successfully delivered, and the rest were either nowhere near even decent condition (let alone like new), or was some junk replacement in the box. Frown
I've bought 3 things used like new for the past 2 years. Logitech g pro wireless 2 mouse, dyson vacuum, and Sony xm5s, all basically brand new. Nearly 70% off. Just gotta gamble and return if you think the price is worth it.

Same exact situation as you. Just did the eBay version for $216. It was time to upgrade my XM3's.

XM5 had the crappy hinges. Alleged minor issues with XM6 hinges, but doesn't seem bad from what I've read. Love mine and glad I upgraded

You know that doesn't prove much of anything right? Recording the unboxing. Unless the box has anti tamper tape, which is extremely unlikely
Amazon tapes their boxes with branded Amazon tape that I'm pretty sure you can't buy at the store, at least I've never seen it. Maybe if it was just clear packing tape that you can get anywhere it wouldn't mean anything.

What if someone has lice and returns it to Amazon? Lol It is disgusting to wear headphones that you don't know where they have been. Just get the new ones. People wear these for porn too.

Are you suggesting that porn juices are on them?

Yes, this is true to my knowledge. It's why Amazon uses their proprietary tape: I don't believe you can buy it anywhere.

But on numerous occasions I've had the blue tape looked to be torn open from the weight of the package, and the driver/shipper just patched it up with generic clear tape. All contents were still available inside.

Man, prices on these keep going down and down... there seems to be an endless supply of barely-used returns from multiple sellers. Seems like sales are not going great for Sony.
These are the most popular best selling premium headphones on the market. They sell millions of them, at full price, with enormous profit margins. I think you're mistaken.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I would just wait a little bit and get it by secondcity at ebay for around this price. They are like new and ebay give you the 2 year allstate warranty. secondcity also provide full return refund if you don't like it.

I've had the same experience, and I buy used stuff on Amazon pretty regularly. People who have issues are the loudest, and people who don't have issues don't tell the Internet. Make sure you're not buying from a 3rd party with a terrible rating or no selling history and you'll be fine, generally.

I'd be all over this deal if I didn't already buy a "used: like new" pair back in October during the big Amazon Warehouse sale.

There's an endless supply of barely used XM6's because Sony sells a ton of them. A few thousand returns is a drop in the bucket, and is probably mostly people regretting spending so much on a new pair.
