Good deal... unfortunately it's Amazon Resale; it's a complete gamble. Basically roll a dice and your chances of getting a six is about what your chances are of actually getting a "like new" item. Not worth the time and effort IMO. Amazon Resale's a joke now.

Same exact situation as you. Just did the eBay version for $216. It was time to upgrade my XM3's.

XM5 had the crappy hinges. Alleged minor issues with XM6 hinges, but doesn't seem bad from what I've read. Love mine and glad I upgraded

Amazon tapes their boxes with branded Amazon tape that I'm pretty sure you can't buy at the store, at least I've never seen it. Maybe if it was just clear packing tape that you can get anywhere it wouldn't mean anything.

What if someone has lice and returns it to Amazon? Lol It is disgusting to wear headphones that you don't know where they have been. Just get the new ones. People wear these for porn too.

Yes, this is true to my knowledge. It's why Amazon uses their proprietary tape: I don't believe you can buy it anywhere.


But on numerous occasions I've had the blue tape looked to be torn open from the weight of the package, and the driver/shipper just patched it up with generic clear tape. All contents were still available inside.

I would just wait a little bit and get it by secondcity at ebay for around this price. They are like new and ebay give you the 2 year allstate warranty. secondcity also provide full return refund if you don't like it.

I've had the same experience, and I buy used stuff on Amazon pretty regularly. People who have issues are the loudest, and people who don't have issues don't tell the Internet. Make sure you're not buying from a 3rd party with a terrible rating or no selling history and you'll be fine, generally.

I'd be all over this deal if I didn't already buy a "used: like new" pair back in October during the big Amazon Warehouse sale.

There's an endless supply of barely used XM6's because Sony sells a ton of them. A few thousand returns is a drop in the bucket, and is probably mostly people regretting spending so much on a new pair.
