Seriously? imo, Starbucks coffee is the worst by far and not suitable for human consumption.

Try Mayorga organic Cubano roast. We love it when it goes on sale from time to time. Conventional coffee has a lot of pesticides on it. If you don't like it, Costco has a no questions asked return policy. And I agree with the other post, Starbucks is horrible.

Coffee, the berry of a bush, has an external part (pericarp) that is composed of many layers that tend to shield it from environmental effects. In addition, roasting the green coffee beans reduces almost all of the bad stuff. My source of this information is The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, a credible publication.

And,if you are buying pre-ground coffee, it may not be exactly what you think it is because inferior beans (non-arabica) and other fillers are allowed, by the FDA; they typically do not label this or voluntarily disclose this information. One exception, that I know of, is Cafe du Monde, which is a mixture of coffee and roasted chicory root. Search for and check out reputable sources to validate my comments if you like.

Lavazza is a medium roast, more like Pikes or Breakfast blend. I like Lavazza although medium roast Starbucks are fine too. I can understand why you don't like Lavazza if you're used to dark roast, but be careful of the oily beans clogging your grinder...

This is my favorite Lavazza variety for lattes. It's on the dark side of medium just short of that Charbucks flavor. It's 100% Arabica so doesn't have a lot of the crema usually provided by the addition of Robusta beans as in the Super/Gran Crema varieties. While the beans can look quite oily they are quite dry overall, so need a finer grind than most quality medium coffees. I store mine in the fridge where the oiliness disappears. The coffee has lots of flavor so you want a quick extraction (with short infusion) otherwise you'll get some harsh flavors. Overall, if you like this style of Italian coffee, it's impossible to find better value than this.

Might not be the best in the world (others say) but I have had way way worse for way more money in the past. No limit, I bought 7 bags at this price. This will last us quite a while. Coffee prices have done nothing but go up up up, better grab some if you can find it.

Its also important to know how to properly extract shots of expresso! I.e. how fine is the grind is, grams per shot, and temp. Not to mention preparing a perfect puck. Once I got this right, it was a game changer!!!
