I believe the only difference between the openrun and openrun se are that the se include a soft pouch instead of hard shell pouch.

Had these and ended up returning them. The newer models all use USB C. This is some other format that matches no other cable I own.

These have a magnetic charging port which leaves no opening in the headphone for water to get into. Makes them more waterproof. The USB-C ports require a cover, which is less waterproof and liable to break or be lost.
Now if you don't care about it being waterproof, I agree USB-C is better.
