This TayMac RaynGuard in use outlet cover is a weatherproof upgrade for outdoor outlets, with the clear vertical design appealing for seeing the connection and the metal version drawing interest for added durability. The price looks better than local store pricing, and the same brand and model is noted at Lowe's for more. The main caution is sun exposure, since plastic covers can get brittle and crack over time, while metal is favored for longer life. It is a practical pick for exposed exterior installs where durability matters.
The weatherproof in-use cover can help make an older outdoor outlet fixture inspection-ready when selling a home.
The same brand and model is reportedly used in commercial light poles with GFCIs without issues.
The deal price can be cheaper than buying the exact same brand and model locally at Lowe's.
The plastic version reportedly lasted about 10 to 15 years in sun before breaking.
A metal box may raise compatibility questions when paired with plastic conduit and grounding wire.
Plastic outlet covers can get brittle in direct sun and may crack after around three years.
Metal is recommended for the sunny side of the house because plastic can crack under direct exposure.
The deal may be a questionable replica or lower-quality product, so buying reputable materials may be safer for a home.

Metal $8.33 - $1.03 (Amz saving) = $8.33
Different of $1.27 worth the metal box? I have always use the plastic but they broke after about 10 - 15 years in the sun. Can you use it with the plastic conduit with the grounding wire hooked up to the box?

that said, these are easily had for under $10 at big box stores around here (significantly so if you buy multiple) - this is a meh deal on a questionable temu replica product at best. If its MY house, I'd buy reputable quality - if its a rental or you're moving soon, buy cheap chinese junk. Building materials competition is so great that they're profits are cut to the bone, if you find cheaper versions from overseas, its because they're significantly worse in material or manufacture to be so.
you answered your own question... on the sunny side of the house where it will be exposed to significant direct sun, go metal.
