Over the past couple of years I've become a big fan of ThermoMaven. I have a couple of wireless probe units I use for a lot of my BBQ, smoking and oven roasting. But we can't use them for some of the things we cook. This instant read thermometer has more than met that need. It's super fast and ulta accurate temparature read is better than any other instant read thermometer I've used. The bright red led screen is much easier to see than standard gray screens...especially when I use it outdoors after dark. It's waterproof so cleanup is a jiffy and the magnets allow me to store it on the side of our refrigerator where it's easy to grab when needed.

I have a different F1 (earlier model maybe) and it is noticeably faster than my other "fast reading thermometer" from some other brand that I can't remember right now.

I just got their F1 Turbo and it's more sensitive than my older MkIV Thermapen that was like 10x the price.

This looks cooler but it seems slightly less sensitive than the F1 Turbo 1sec vs 0.5sec reading. Wonder if that's real or not. Tempted to order another just to see!

I've no idea which one is better. On paper this one is slower but I doubt it's noticeable. Everything else seems the same except the color backlit screen.

I have a genuine thermapen, it is delightfully precise of course but its honestly a pain to open (i complained to their warranty dept but was denied because 'they are supposed to be like that') and when i picked up a thermomaven from the last sub-10 deal i thought it would just be another cheap copy that i would keep for a few months and give away because it wasnt accurate or durable enough. After cooking a few meals outdoors, i was truly stunned at how fast the probe reacts, how fast the display updates, and how useful motion-sensitive activation is. No more forcing the thing open and closed to get it to turn back on. It reads noticeably faster than the thermapen. It's really a shame Thermapen thinks their tight-hinged, slow display food thermometers are worth $75 because i will for sure never be buying one again. Even if i have to replace this thing every year for $8 it is a no brainer.
