Basically though (copied from Google as they wrote it better):
It makes it fast and cheap to get a U.S. trademark. Amazon requires a trademark for their Brand Registry program, which lets sellers protect listings from copycats. Fanciful, made-up words clear the legal process much faster than real words. Made-up words or random strings of letters are distinct. They rarely conflict with existing businesses, which speeds up approval with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
