Good stuff. I learned the hard way this stuff eats paint. Was lubing a key stuck in a painted door. Came back to paint gone 😂

Suspect the carrier fluid is causing the paint to strip. Silicone should not damage paint or plastic. I use the WD silicone equivalent to lube the car's windows sliding surfaces and string trimmer head. No issue with paint stripping. The nylon string can fuse inside the trimmer head under heavy load, resulting in no string feed. Also try dry lubricant (Teflon) if you encounter paint problem.

It doesn't eat paint so much as it makes it difficult for paint to bond to a surface. I work at a vehicle mfr plant and silicone aerosols are prohibited in the paint and body shop and/or areas that share an HVAC return line(s) with paint and body.
