Carbon fiber implies "light weight". It weighs 75lbs. I have a metal ebike from a few years ago that weighs less. Of course, mine is also a legal ebike with a 20mph top speed and not an e-moto masquerading as an ebike. I mean, just advertising this thing is illegal in New Jersey.

Imagine what it would weigh with a steel frame! It's still lighter than it would be otherwise. "Legal" just means it can't be registered as an eBike, in NJ it's considered a "motorized scooter" a la pocket bike, and can only be operated off-road, which does seem to be the intended purpose of this thing.

FWIW it's also illegal to pump your own gas in Jersey, so I wouldn't put that state's laws as the benchmark for what's logical.
