I'm quite sure that's a typo/error. The reviews would have mentioned that if someone who weighed 180lbs sat in a chair and it fell apart. Reviews are quite solid.

Yes. These are good stools. I got mine from a local furniture dealer for $20 a piece as a package and they lasted more than 5 years. However if you have big behinds, like if you fill an airplane seat, it's best not to install the armrest.

The first thing that will break off is the armrest. Everything else held up pretty good, including the adjustable hydraulics.

Also, want to mention that the bottom of the stool circle piece is not polished, which will leave scuff marks on hardwood/vinyl/stone floors without some kind of cushion.

Buy with a card with extended warranty if you are weary.
