Did they pull these out of a nuclear bunker or something? The Energy brand ceased to exist decade ago.

Taking all this info together (which is what Slickdeals should have done) this in not a slickdeal but ripoffdeal.net. These PE companies buy brands cheaply reproduce the product for a short time to milk it before word goes out the product is Chinese crap not even close to the original. Then they go and sell it to another PE firm. The only slickdeal is for the firm that owns the brand not the customers. Fake price fake deal fake discount. Fakedeals.net

I have used a pair of Energy CB5 desktop speakers for years and love their clear mids and highs, solid build quality, and affordable price, though the bass is a bit light; I am definitely willing to give CF30 a try

Bass lightness is a non-issue when one has a decent subwoofer in play, which IMO everybody really should unless under truly severe WAF and/or budget constraints. What matters is how the mids and highs sound. Unfortunately too many newbies still pick speakers based on (boomy) bass output and overlook screechy ear-fatiguing exaggerated treble.

Not sure if current CF30 has the same qualify of CF30 15 years ago, but if it does, then I'd say it should be a lot better than Andrew Jones.

Keep in mind i own none of them, just based on the research I did long time ago so I could be totally wrong
