I did this deal yesterday at my local Best Buy in Yorba Linda, CA Best Buy. I purchased online for pickup. It was ready within an hour, i brought my grey Switch 1 with power cable, dock and straps. I completed the trade in and the only thing they required was the console w/joycons and the power cable. He let me keep the docs and straps. They said they just recycled the other parts. I also had the same issue as the other poster about the rep saying I only get $75 back, i showed the receipt, the manager came and showed me the screen that it does shows $75 trade in and $75 for trade in promo with Switch 2 purchase. He said the $150 will be refunded back to my credit card within 48 hours. Process was easy, the only quality check they did was they made sure it turned on and that iis it.

Now is the time to trade up if you were planning to get the switch 2 anyway. It still plays all the switch 1 games. Prices go up in September.

You add it to your cart and if you buy a switch 2 at the same time then they charge you the full amount today, but refund the trade-in value 7-10 days later.

I think if you don't buy a Switch 2 at the same time, you'll receive the trade-in value as a gift card...and then...maybe...a coupon for the extra $75 off.

$75 coupons and a refunded gift card) since it's not in the system.

My GOD! Half an hour arguing with the assistant manager at best buy that she is going to give me "store credit" instead of what the app showed me when I purchased the switch. It didnt matter, the computer automatically gave me the $150+tax refund. Thrn they tried to hide the free case and act like I wasn't supposed to get it. Those managers at BB are looney!

Overall, I find the OLED screen is be significantly better than the LCD of the Switch 2. It probably depends on the game you play. In games with a lot of dark areas, the OLED is vastly superior.

how does this tradein work? Can you place the order for pickup, pick it up, come home transfer save data and then go back again for the tradein? Or is it required to trade in when picking up the switch 2?

For store pick up, I think you have to provide the trade in at the same time, as they had to submit it and apply the credit together. I received my $150 trade in credit instantly on my order in my account after I walked out the store.

If you need to save and transfer data, I recommend you do the shipping method. Then you can transfer the data, and then mail the old console in within the time frame. Only down side is you will have to wait up to 2 weeks for them to inspect and then provide the credit.

I just tried to trade my Oled model. The Site said it could give up to $205 but in the actual store offered $50 instead because it wasn't brand new in a sealed box. I kept both because the Oled is still great and this console is only going to get more expensive. Beware.

ok guys. two things: there aren't a lot of games "made for" switch 2. the screen is worse than oled. switch 1 has cheaper used games, and there have been around 1000 games that will run on the switch 1.

I just did it and completed the trade in store in NY 86th street everything worked.They were very confused because they didn't see the promo and it was only offering 75$ they had to call corporate and we're told they have to complete the trade and purchase to populate the correct price at the end of purchase.It took an hour but everything worked in the end they just were confused how the bonus 75 was added
