Several stores around me have marked the Ryobi One+ Edge 12Ah battery at half price, probably to make room for the battery rebrand they announced last week. (Rebrand: https://www.protoolreviews.com/ry...batteries/)

You can see if it's available near you through the store selector, see images for examples.

Looks like a better deal so that your not attaching a boulder to the hand held tool for use. Also give you thee to spead out the battery life, in the event that a cell goes bad.

Weird. Many stores near me have in stock but I can't add to cart or purchase for online pickup.

Not a bad deal at about $10/Ah. OP's deal runs about $11.25/Ah, assuming you can find them in stores with the deal.

Drawback is the bundle you posted will have you juggling between multiple batteries, though that might be a plus if you're working with handheld tools vs larger tools like a mower or something.
Also, the EDGE product line (OP's post) are supposedly superior to the standard High Performance ones ("more power; runs cooler; lives longer; etc."), though I don't have any personal experience with them.

Edge is supposed to push more amperage for tools that are wired to use the extra power. Not every tool will benefit from it, but if you use a lot of their newer brushless tools, good chance they're in this group.

It's confusing, but the EDGE line of batteries is completely different from the High Performance ones (which will soon be the new base model batteries). They are tabless and give up to 30% more power on demanding HP / Whisper / Brushless tools. Think circular saws, vacuums, blowers, angle grinders. Only their top end and really demanding tools benefit from the EDGE batteries, but it's nice to have 1 for those tools if you have them. Otherwise the HP batteries like you linked are all you need for drills and fans and all the non HP tools.

For what it's worth, all of my old NiCd packs have finally bit the dust, but so far, I have yet to have a single Lithium battery pack go belly up... I've got over 20 of them in various sizes from 1.5Ah to 4Ah, and my oldest packs are from 2014.
Definitely the most impressive Lithium based battery packs I've ever seen anywhere in terms of longevity, especially when you consider there are no balancing leads running to the chargers.

This would be good for fans and lights, but use it with a power tool, give your arm a good workout.
